Workflows

Function-by-function playbooks for Finance, Revenue, Ops, People, Knowledge.

Updated 2026-04-25

TL;DR. Pick your function. Find the playbooks Tinkso ships in real engagements. Each page gives a job-to-be-done, the prompt seed, the output spec, the failure modes, and the upgrade path to a skill or connector. Twenty-two workflows across five functions — every one of them tested in mid-market deployments, not in demo videos.

Why workflows are organised by function, not by document type#

Most public Cowork guides organise workflows by document type — "invoice generation," "PDF summary," "meeting notes." That works for a freelancer. For a 200-person company it breaks: the same person does not generate invoices and write newsletters, and what counts as good depends on the function's standards. We organise by function so a finance manager can land on one page, see five workflows that apply to their actual job, and skip the marketing ones entirely.

How each workflow page is structured#

  • Job to be done — one-line outcome statement
  • Who runs it — typical role and seniority
  • Inputs — what you put in inbox/
  • Outputs — what should land in output/
  • Prompt seed — copy-paste starting point
  • Quality bar — what good looks like, what trips users up
  • Time saved (typical) — directional, not promised
  • Upgrade path — when to convert to a skill, when to add a connector
  • Tinkso's take — what we tweak in real client engagements

The five functions#

Finance and accounting#

Invoice and AR · Expenses and receipts · Month-end close · Variance narratives · Vendor bills

Revenue and marketing#

Account research · Proposals and quotes · Competitive intel · Content engine · Reputation response

Operations#

Meeting prep and recap · Compliance checklists · Inventory and supplier orders · Project status packs · Quality control

People and HR#

Onboarding packs · Knowledge transfer · Workforce planning · Policy updates

Data and knowledge#

File organisation at scale · Corpus summarisation · Data room prep · Notes to knowledge base

A note on what's not here#

You will not find freelance website builder, personal newsletter, or side-hustle invoice generator. Those are covered elsewhere. The bible focuses on what shows up in mid-market function teams. If you want one of these added, email cowork@tinkso.com.
